Our Mission
STAR Dance and Motion's mission is to teach, develop, create, promote, and present compelling and impassioned works that bridge communities through entertaining artistry. STAR's specific goal is to ensure that the child dancers have FUN while learning and performing, while the adult dancers achieve the height of excellence! STAR's mission has also been to provide a safe haven that empowers students and families to grow their confidence, promote creativity, and build self-esteem through the world of dance regardless of gender, ability, religion, economic status, ethnicity, race, political affiliation, sexual or gender orientation. STAR is a safe place for everyone!
Dance Instructor/ Choreographer

Tristan Murphy
Tristan has been dancing a variety of styles since she was four years old. Polynesian, lyrical, contemporary, tap, and jazz, to name a few. She was on the Mission Hills High School Dance Team for four years, where she danced at a competitive level for other styles of dance, like pom and hiphop. Her team took the title 'National Champions' at the United Spirit Association Nationals twice. Tristan has also taken classes from a wide variety of studios, as well as in college. Dancing and choreography has always been a creative outlet for Tristan, and she hopes to provide that for you at STAR, along with your new skills!

Louisa McCarthy
Louisa comes from Anchorage, Alaska. She grew up dancing with Alaska Dance Theatre, and has performed with Eugene Ballet Company, Ballet West, and Cincinnati Ballet. She has taught many styles of dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and more. She has also taught gymnastics and parkour. She is currently an acting student at John Paul the Great Catholic University. When she's not dancing or acting, she loves to bake, play piano and guitar, sing, and write silly stories. Her favorite animal is the platypus, and her favorite thing about working with kids is how honest they are!
